[…] all form is beautiful, perception is always of form, and the formless is “perceived” or recognized only by its absence. Ugliness, therefore, is not recognized in the same way as beauty, and this is also seen by the fact that we recoil from ugliness but are attracted by beauty, since the former is not like the form within us, whereas what is beautiful is akin to form within the soul.
